Guest Post from Daddy

Troy spoke with our adoption agency today and here's his report:

Spoke with Laura today and she outlined the things that need to happen
for us to go pick up Kaylee.

First of all the normal trip would be for us to go to St. Lucy's on a Monday
and pick up Kaylee; Tuesday, meet with the AIT and submit paperwork for
Kaylee's VISA / Greencard; Wednesday pick up Kaylee's VISA and hop on a
plane for home.

With the holidays approaching, many agencies will be taking holidays just
like here in the US and there are still quite a few things which have to
happen before we can bring Kaylee home. All offices are closed
Christmas day, New Years and Chinese New Year.

1) Kaylee must visit an AIT approved doctor to get a medical exam.
The closest one is in Gaushon (sp?), which is about an hour away from
Tainan, where Kaylee is.
2) AIT has to receive and process our paper work. This can take up
to two weeks which is why we have to get it sent out ASAP.
3) We have to arrive at St. Lucy's to pick up our daughter.
4) Meet with the AIT to apply for Kaylee's VISA
5) Go home :-)

Since all the offices are closed on holidays, we are hoping to get there
early enough to pick up Kaylee and then spend some time there during the
holidays waiting for the AIT to open back up so we can get Kaylee's VISA
and then head home.

While Laura Trinaman was at St. Lucy's she had a chance to watch Kaylee
for awhile. She said she looked like a very content and happy little
girl while playing in her bouncy chair. She also said the pictures
don't lie...Kaylee is a big girl.

Some of you may have noticed red splotches on Kaylee in some of her
pictures. Laura was explaining this is typical in Taiwan orphanages
because of the humidity and/or Kaylee could be reacting to the soap or
water used to clean her clothes and sheets. Nothing a little moisturizer
and baby friendly soaps won't help clear up.
