I went solo to the Church Potluck dinner tonight, as Troy was on his way back from Georgia. I had a great time and filled many an ear with our adoption story.
What a great group of people we have at our church. I 'm really glad we found such a good church home and have begun to get involved. As I was waiting in line to dish up some food, one of the members told me he adopted both of his sons about 40 years ago.
As I sat down to eat I told the other members at my table that I was continually amazed at the number of people I was coming into contact with that were connected in some way to adoption. One of the ladies at the table then said she too had been adopted. Between all the adoptive parents, kids and adoptees at our church and in our community, we are really in a great place to raise Kaylee.
Another member talked with us about our adoption and has a pink Laura Ashley blanket she will bring to church for Kaylee.
Troy did eventually show up and got to enjoy the plate I had set aside for him. Glad to have him home :)
