Exciting Start to Family Day

We started out our Family Day with a bit of excitement. We've struggled this week with trusting the hotel to understand and complete our wake-up call requests, as we have no clock in the room. We shouldn't worry about it, as we've been awake hours before they're supposed to be calling us anyway. We had requested a taxi for 6:45 am in order to meet Sally at the domestic airport by 7:40 am. The taxi arrived early at 6:30 am and proceeded to start beeping outside our window. Thinking we may lose our taxi, we rushed out the door with all of our documents, diaper bag and gifts in hand.

We made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare and thinking of our blog I asked Troy to take a picture of me with all our items. In our haste to get to the taxi, we forgot to take the camera battery out of the charger. We could not imagine not having our most special day documented, so Troy did a quick calculation and thought he had enough time to get to the hotel and back. He grabbed the taxi cards and was on his way. I watched frantically for his return as the minutes slipped by.

Sally was there right on time and I explained the situation. We went ahead and checked in and she told the airline rep that if Troy didn't arrive by 8:10 am, we would cancel our flight. I thought I might have to go by myself. Miraculously, Troy arrived at exactly 8:10 am. Turns out that rush hour hit after we arrived at the airport causing his return trips to take much longer.

We rushed upstairs and caught the plane just as it was boarding. But of course you know that because we already have our most beautiful girl.
