After the disappointing conversation with the first pediatrician's group, I contacted the next on the list. What a vast improvement! The nurse actually had heard of adoption before and actually admitted that they have several adoptive families as clients. (The other group does too...I guess they just don't know it. )
She was very professional and wanted us to know they would help us as much as possible and that if our doctor is not available when we get the referral for Kaylee, we can see one of the 3 other doctors at the practice.
Our first appointment, just to get to know each other, is on 8/9. I feel so much better!

wow I haven't even thought about this. I did mention it to the docs I work with and I'm hoping that between all of them I will be able to get a good idea from them. I mean I do work in a childrens hospital. But I hadn't thought about getting a pediatrician to look at our referral, what can a doc tell you from the medical report and pictures, are they specialized in adoption. You can email me privately from my blog if you get a chance.
