I called the credit union and asked for their help. There is one other notary whose stamp does not expire until 2010, but she is out of the office tomorrow.
That left me 2 options, keep my appointment, prepay for the notarization and hope the doctor would go down and sign the letter in a timely fashion or move my appointment to a time when both would be available. I called the doctor's office to see if the nurse thought he would sign the letter on his own in a timely fashion (I am paying for the appointment and the notarization - AGAIN and already have the letters printed...all I need is a signature) and she said she didn't know, I'd have to discuss it with him. I asked if they could squeeze me in for just a few minutes on Thursday at anytime so we could see the notary and that was a no go.
She did tell me there was an available appointment on Friday at 11:45 and I should let her know if the notary was available. I contacted the notary, fearing that may be her lunch time, and she said she would make sure she was available. So my appointment is now scheduled for Friday and hopefully I can wrap this up.
It's amazing in this whole process that some people are so caring and willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen for us and others just make you feel like a nuisance. Just another hurdle to get by.
