Agency Process Update

I spoke with FFC today to make sure they had received our application package (they had) and to get a better understanding of the process to get on the waiting list.

Our homestudy has been sent to their in-house Social Worker to be reviewed and have any changes recommended. It will then be sent to our homestudy agency to be updated and re-notarized. Then it is sent back to FFC and forwarded to their staff member in Taiwan to be translated. At that point, the 2 different orphanages handle the process differently. St. Lucy Center will not accept any of our documents for review until a baby is available. Chung Yi will take our documents (application, introduction letter, photo pages and translated homestudy).

Once a baby is available, that matches our request, St. Lucy Center would accept our documents for approval. If all goes well, and we accept our referral, the first court process would begin.

I did ask about the number of people on the waiting list and it seems there is only one couple officially on the waiting list and a few that are in process like us. One of the couples is open to a boy or girl, which is good for us. All in all, sounds like the wait time to referral shouldn't be too terribly long.

Please keep us in your prayers that we don't hit too many more roadblocks.

Wow, maybe we should change agencies. Sounds like things are going to move very quickly for you. I don't even think we'll have a referral by the end of the year. Hmmm....

I think we'll definitely have a referral by year-end.

FFC has been great and just the documents they provide on their adopttaiwangroup are incredible. I was going to use their 49 page Taiwan travel guide even when we were with New Hope.

Tammy we are so happy that things are moving right along for you. I know when Nicole ran into bumps along the road Laura and the awsome FFC staff jumped right in to get things moving again. They do anything within their control to unite these beautiful children with their families. It won't be long now. This will be your last 4th of July without a child to share it with. What a wonderful thought!!!!!!!
