Language

I thought Troy and I could learn a bit of Mandarin while we are waiting. I watched several children's videos from the library thinking that might be the easiest way to learn. Let's just say I only mastered about 3 words. The language is very difficult and relies on varied miniscually-different intonations. I will still give the Rosetta Stone CDs a try, but don't think I'll be carrying on any understandable conversations.

We have decided instead to focus on learning sign language that we will use with Kaylee. Since I won't have school clogging up my free time too much longer!!!! I'll begin reading and practicing Baby Signs - How to Talk with your Baby Before your Baby Can Talk. Should be interesting and at least keep me busy.

Baby signs are great!! It really does help them communicate...reduces stress on both sides :). Let me know if you want any help/ideas in this area.

We have tapes where they said the phrase in English, then Mandarin. I thought I could do this...uhhhh wrong!! It's very difficult. I even have a book to help with the tones and such, it's way to difficult for this broad.
