We are Troy and Tammy in sunny Florida. After almost 7 years of marriage (it'll be 7 years next month), we've decided to add to our family!
It all started with an innocent visit to Troy's Uncle and Aunt and their 2 boys (one of which has 5 KIDS!!!) It was Saturday 2/25/06 and we were going to visit the Austins (Joe, Faith, Brian, Joe, Jr. & Meghan and their 5 kids)
It all started clicking when firstly I wasn't horrified about being around 5 kids - they were awesome! And then I saw Troy give Theo his nebulizer and then very attentively watch Blues Clues with 3 of the girls.
Troy did startle Ann Marie a bit with that world famous Bleeker laugh, but she settled down soon enough :)
A funny side note is that one of our purposes was to grill Cousin Brian on his "adoption connection" we had heard about through the family. Turns out he merely KNOWS someone who adopted and is not involved in the process. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the family.
On Sunday 2/26/06 we went to church with the entire Austin clan and really enjoyed it. We followed it up with a fabulous brunch and then headed out. Little were the Austins aware that on our drive home, we decided to adopt!
Thus begun the research on the internet - how do we do this anyway??? Requests for information packages, reading blogs, library books, buying books....a thirst for knowledge unquenchable.
